UVAL Memberships run from January through December of Each year.
Membership dues for established members are collected in January.
Members are welcome to pay at different times throughout the year, or in advance if you wish to do so.
The dues are low and are generally not prorated.
However, if someone joins in Sept of this year, a fee of $45 will allow coverage for the remaining of 2024 and all of 2025. If joining in November, the regular fee of $35 will cover through the next year.
Anyone under 18 will need parental permission to join.
Children in Middle School will be accepted but they must be accompanied by a parent for appropriate supervision.
High school students join with the understanding that safety is critical while working at UVAL and knowing that UVAL may restrict some activities for students.
In most cases, family membership includes a spouse and/or child living in the same household.
Adult children and or other "family" living in another household must register their own membership.
Members can bring a guest to experience the benefits of membership.
This might include coming to a clay activity, meeting the paper crafter group, find out what the watercolor group is planning, be introduced to other members, have them get informed before deciding to join, etc. We welcome inquiry.
It does not include coming to the Life Drawing Group.
Membership is required to exhibit in the gallery and to use the facilities in the annex.
Members and volunteers are essential to the success of the Upper Valley Art League.
Members and volunteers contribute their time and effort to a variety of tasks, from maintaining a social media presence to assisting with exhibitions.
UVAL itself is a community organization that depends on the efforts of its members and volunteers to be successful.

UVAL Galleries are open to the public because of the dedication of our volunteers.
Volunteers can perform a variety of tasks, from answering phone calls and greeting guests to processing payments.
Artworks frequently come and go from the Gift Shop.
Volunteers can assist in documenting these changes, as well as organizing the shop.
Every month we open a new exhibit, meaning extra help is needed to move the artworks up and down on time.
Volunteers can help move the artworks to and from the gallery, as well as prepare them for display.
Volunteers with Graphic Design skills can help create posters/announcements to promote our frequent shows and events.
Volunteers can also help create informational pamphlets for new members.
Please reach us at uval.texas@gmail.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.
There are three types of volunteers who serve at the front desk.
The gallery can remain open as long as we have at least one volunteer at the front desk, so we welcome all volunteers to help out. Generally, volunteers only work half a day.
We understand that volunteers may have concerns about being called on too often.
We respect your commitment to our organization, whether you can volunteer regularly or only occasionally. We appreciate your willingness to contribute your time and skills to our mission, and we want you to know that we value your participation.
We understand that not everyone is able to volunteer due to work, school, family, or health.
We appreciate members and volunteers for any type of contributions.
If you are unable to volunteer your time, please continue to promote UVAL through word of mouth.
Sharing your positive experiences with UVAL with friends, family, and coworkers is a great way to help us grow and reach more people.
